Hampshire Farmers’ Markets have released the all-important dates for 2017’s markets. Fill in your diaries and calendars with the closest one to you. Or, if you’ve never visited before, perhaps your New Year’s resolution could be to go along and try some of the delicious items made by some of the best Hampshire producers.
Every weekend of the year visitors can discover the delights of wonderful food and drink, as well as gifts, crafts and plants for your garden. From beer to bread, all of our producers must source at least 20 per cent of their ingredients from Hampshire or within a 20-mile radius. Plus any produce grown, reared or raised must spend at least 50 per cent of its time with the producer. Traceability is important to all of us and visitors to our markets can be assured everything is fully traceable.
There’s always something to sample at market too. The award-winning Broughton Water Buffalo are often cooking up burgers and Bowtells create delicious breakfast rolls, Catch A Fire Pizza serves up a slice or two and there’s always tea and coffee to quench your thirst after a busy
The markets aren’t the only place you can find our producers this year. You will find them at the Shamrock Quay Festival in April, the Watercress Festival and Hamble Festival in May and the New Forest & Hampshire County Show in July. We also celebrate British Food Fortnight and Applefest in September.
