A Basing Bakes was started in 2012 by Helen Lang who has a long history in the catering industry. Helen started as a school cook, then progressed to an agency chef and was later employed by a local golf club in their kitchen.  When Helen decided to set up her own baking business, the difficulty was deciding which route to go down.

To begin with, Helen was baking primarily regular goods made with wheat flour, but she started to get requests for gluten free products. As time progressed, she heard from several friends who had Coeliac disease; they said that they couldn’t find good quality gluten free products on the high street. After looking into this and indeed trying some of these GF goods, she decided to start producing her own GF products alongside the regular goods. 

The demand for GF food was so high, that in 2015 she made the decision to produce solely GF goods, and made a second kitchen dedicated to gluten free baking.  She continued to sell to retail outlets until the end of 2017 and in 2018, A Basing Bakes joined Hampshire Farmer's Markets. Consequently, HFM is now the primary route to market for A Basing Bakes.

Helen’s husband Harvey, has always been present at the Farmer’s Markets, and in 2021, having taken early retirement, he became a full-time partner in the business, and now helps in production and other areas.

A Basing Bakes is always evolving, and they have recently embraced the new trend for plant based food by incorporating a new gluten free vegan pie into their range of products.

From the Heart of Hampshire, Butler Country Estates makes delicious smoked trout pate, fillets an whole fish in the historic city of Winchester, in the heart of Hampshire.

Our smokery lies within a few minutes of the River Test, Itchen and Meon which are some of the finest nutrient-rich, chalk streams in the world.

We use rainbow trout raised in Hampshire’s gin-clear crystal waters for our smoked trout pate, whole fish and fillets. Being so close to our smokery ensures a freshness which is exquisitely reflected in the taste of our pates and fillets. So much so, in 2020, we were awarded a Great Taste Star by The Guild of Fine Food.

We sell our artisan products direct customers at the many farmers’ markets here in Hampshire and further afield, and via a growing list dedicated commercial partners. Bakeries, butchers, caterers and village shops who share our values of not only making the best food and drink they can but doing so by using ingredients local to them while adding value to the communities they serve.

FNK Pie House has been established since 2010 and has been selling at the Hampshire Farmers' Markets since then.

Our pies stand out from the rest as they are truly handmade, using stocks reduced from the bones and vegetables giving the pies a depth of flavour that our customers come back for again and again. As a Hampshire Farmers' Markets secondary producer we support the primary suppliers (farmers) by buying local meat and vegetables.  Our pies are sold in eco-friendly packaging that can be completely recycled. 

Our philosophy has always been that we don’t use preservatives, additives or flavourings and because so many people suffer from allergies they are also diary free and nut free. Our Vegan pies are soya, nut and most importantly Palm Oil Free.

Hampshire Game started trading in the mid 1970's and the business has made steady progress over the past three decades.

Launched in 2020 by Donna, Harvest View Brownies bakes individual brownies in a range of different flavours and sells individually on the market stall.

Using only the finest quality ingredients such as Belgian chocolate and flour from The Leckford Estate, the brownies are full of fudgey, chocolatey goodness! 

Jarrold's Gin are a small gin distillery based in Chichester.

Founded by Nichola & Jamie Jarrold after being inspired by the recent revival of the spirit in the UK. Jarrold's Gin distill, bottle, and label their own range of outstanding, smooth gin.

"We decided about three years ago that we would like to do something totally different and as we like gin thought that we could distil our own! We built a small extension on the side of our house and went to Germany to buy a 240L copper still."

Wild Venison And Game From The New Forest

Suppliers of wild venison and other exceptional game from the New Forest National Park including venison joints, steaks, mince, sausages, meat balls, burgers, pheasant, partridge, pigeon and rabbit.

Noah’s Ark Farm is situated in Ashley, New Milton, near to Lymington and the New Forest. The Atyeo family have farmed in poultry for many years. Noah’s Ark Farm attend the Hampshire Farmers' Markets twice monthly at Winchester, the second and last Sunday in the month, as well as monthly visits to Romsey and Emsworth 

As well as producing free range whole table chicken they also portion chicken into boneless breasts, thighs, drumsticks, liver and wings as well as a selection of chicken sausages and burgers.

Their laying birds provide free range eggs in sizes ranging from very large to medium. Away from chicken they also produce grass fed lamb at all farmers' markets.

Sarah's Hampshire Kitchen produces handmade fudge in small batches at their kitchen in Fareham, using cream sourced from Hampshire dairies. They combine this with other quality ingredients.

Flavourings from across the world are added to make seven delicious types of fudge to choose from: clotted cream, coffee, rum and raisin, salted pecan, sea salted caramel, stem ginger and vanilla.   

They also make homemade Caramelised Onion Chutney, Gooseberry Jam, Redcurrant Jelly, Gooseberry Chutney and Gingered Rhubarb & Fig Chutney. Plum Jam, Cucumber Onion and Pepper Relish.

The Hampshire Real Bread Company is run by Darrin Romp, a self-taught home cook and baker, and operates from his home in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

Darrin is passionate about providing quality bread and pastries made with organic flours.
