Apple Sauce

Home-made Apple Sauce

Ingredients :

1.3 kg (3 lb) apples * – peeled, cored and chopped

750ml water

200g (7 oz) caster sugar

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice *


Method :

Place the apples in a large saucepan and just barely cover with water. Simmer over medium-low heat until apples are tender.  Approx.  15 to 20 minutes.

Place cooked apples in a food processor or blender and blend well. Stir in the caster sugar and lemon juice.


The sauce can then be :


Served cold with a wonderful piece of Roast Pork *

Used in all sorts of deserts or cakes

Served hot with custard or ice-cream *
