We are currently promoting Slow Food Solent: a new local convivium of the international movement Slow Food, covering the Solent region of southern England (Hampshire and surrounding areas). We will begin planning some great gourmet events later in the year to promote good, clean and fair food. That means food that is good for the people eating it, good for the people who grow it and good for the planet.
The Solent area is home to many excellent growers, producers, restaurants, and food outlets, with an abundant availability of superb food, hence providing the ideal setting for an active local Slow Food group. The Solent convivium is always looking for new members. If you have a keen interest in food: where it comes from; how it is produced; cooking it; talking about it; reading about it; learning about it and of course eating it, then Slow Food Solent is for you!
Some examples of the type of future events Slow Food Solent may host are: wine tastings at a local vineyard, a Slow Supper at a local eatery, a masterclass in preparing and cooking fish or a beekeeping demonstration!
