Spring has definitely sprung at Hampshire Farmers Markets with its Winchester location hosting the biggest number of stalls so far this year this weekend (Sunday 28th March)
On Sunday there will be 90 producers at Winchester, offering everything from free-range meat, game and poultry to vegetables, baked goods, preserves and hot food to go.
To mark the beginning of British Summer Time, Hampshire Farmers Markets is also running its annual “Sow and Grow” initiative for children. This is a FREE opportunity for children to plant a pumpkin or sunflower seed in a biodegradable pot that they can take away with them to grow at home. It’s a great opportunity for children to see the growing process from start to finish.
With the clocks going forward this weekend to really make us feel like the hardest winter for 30 years is behind us at last, what better way to mark the coming of BST than with a trip to the Farmers’ Market. You can take advantage of the best of seasonal produce and have a bite to eat from one of our hot food stalls while taking a breather under our canopied seating area.
If you can’t make Winchester, how about making an Easter Bank Holiday trip to Romsey or Petersfield on 4th April or Hythe on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th April.
