A new survey has found that only 41 per cent of people will choose turkey as their Christmas roast this year.
The study of 3000 people found that other options such as beef (22%) and lamb (18%) are gaining in popularity on the traditional Christmas bird. Goose and duck are also rising in favour with the British public as favourite festive fare.
But whether you’re planning turkey or another tasty option, Hampshire Farmers Markets has all the possibilities on offer this December. Ordering from an HFM producer means you can be sure that your bird or joint is of the highest quality and has been reared within the county of Hampshire or ten miles of its borders.
There are still four markets to go before Christmas and this weekend sees Alton’s market on Saturday 12th and Winchester’s on Sunday 13th. The last two markets of the year at Southsea and Andover are to be held on the 20th, still enough time to get your roast, whatever you choose, before the big day.
You can get everything you need for the perfect Christmas lunch at the Farmers’ Markets, including all your Christmas veg, puddings, mince pies and cheese board.
If the quality of your lunch is all important to you this Christmas, make sure you take time to visit one of the four markets or if you can’t get to a market itself, visit out website at http://www.hampshirefarmersmarkets.co.uk and check out our the categorised contact details for our meat, poultry and game producers.
